SECTION 2.

[8043]

(No. 65.) Sir,

No. 1.

Sir J. Jordan to Sir Edward Grey.-(Received March 1.)

Peking, February 10, 1909. WITH reference to my telegram No. 168 of the 28th October, 1908, I have the honour to report that the troops composing the Russian Legation guard, to the number of one officer and fifty men, left Peking on the 7th instant on the way to rejoin their regiment in Eastern Siberia.

There are now no Russian troops in Peking, with the exception of some fifteen Cossacks who are retained at the Legation for orderly duty.

I have, &c. (Signed)

J. N. JORDAN.
